Le soleil est couché, à présent l’herbe longue

Oscille, languissante, dans le vent du soir ;

L’oiseau s’est envolé de cette pierre grise

Pour trouver quelque chaud recoin où se blottir.

Il n’est rien, dans tout ce paysage désert,

Qui vienne frapper mon regard ou mon oreille,

Si ce n’est que le vent, là-bas,

Accourt en soupirant sur la mer de bruyères.
